Monumental Venice

Let’s discover the monumental entrance to the city, which was the real heart of Venice: the political, religious and cultural centre. Here are two classical ideas:

- St. Mark’s Square: enter the Doge’s Palace (the biggest civil building in Venice, home of the Doge and the seat of the Venetian government) and St. Mark’s Basilica (with the five domes, the golden mosaics and the relics of St. Mark).

- A walk through St. Mark’s district: what is beyond the Square, like the "Scala del Bovolo" (which quaintly emerges in all its extraordinary elegance in a hidden courtyard) or the Fenice Opera House (one of the most famous theaters in Europe).
